Hello and welcome to my first blog post! Photography has been a lifelong love of mine, and I am excited to use this platform to showcase my work, share tips and tricks, and give you an inside look into what Emma Hinton Photography is all about.
As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing countless beautiful moments on couples' special days. During my time as a photographer, I have gathered valuable insights and tips to help ensure your wedding day is a success. From selecting the right poses to choosing the perfect lighting, I am here to guide you through the process and help you create timeless memories that you will cherish forever. So, sit back, relax, and let me share nine valuable tips to make your wedding day a truly unforgettable experience.
1. Plan ahead and communicate with your photographer to ensure they know your vision for the day. Discuss any specific shots or special moments you want captured. The best way to achieve this is compiling a list of must-have shots to give to your photographer before the big day. Don't be afraid to get specific! For example, some brides will tell their photographer that they want the "first kiss" photo to have the guests in the background rather than the alter.
2. Have the details ready. Most often, the first thing your photographer will capture is the detail shots, like the one pictured above. Ask your Maid of Honor to gather all the special items needed; the rings, shoes, perfume, jewelry, handwritten vows, the bouquet. Having these items ready for your photographer ensures that nothing will be missed.
3. Trust your photographer's expertise and let them guide you in terms of lighting, location choices, and posing. They know how to capture the best shots and create beautiful memories for you.
4. Delegate tasks: Don’t try to do everything yourself. Assign specific tasks to your bridal party, family members, or wedding planner to help things run smoothly.
5. Remember to relax and enjoy the day! Your photographer will capture the candid moments and genuine emotions that make your wedding day special. Just be yourself and let the love shine through in your photos.
6. Don't forget to factor in time for breaks and rest throughout the day. Your photographer wants to capture you looking your best, so make sure to take care of yourselves and stay hydrated. If you need a break or you both want a few minutes alone after the ceremony, we can make that happen. After all, it is your day!
7. Consider doing a sunrise or sunset photo session for some stunning and romantic lighting. These times of day provide soft, flattering light that will make your photos truly magical.
8. Don't sweat the small stuff – remember that the most important part of the day is celebrating your love and commitment to each other.
9. Lastly, have fun and be present in the moment! Your wedding day will fly by, so savor every second and trust that your photographer will capture all the love and joy of the day.
On your wedding day, capturing moments that will forever be cherished is my ultimate goal as a wedding photographer. By following these tips, you can ensure that your day runs smoothly and that you are able to look back at your photos with joy for years to come. Remember to relax, enjoy every moment, and trust in the process. Your love story is unique and beautiful, and I am honored to have the opportunity to immortalize it through my lens. Cheers to a lifetime of love and happiness!
